FCC opens up wireless white spaces!

The Federal Communications Commission, in a rare move away from further corporate media consolidation of the public airwaves, yesterday “voted to approve the unlicensed use of “white spaces” — empty airwaves between television channels — to provide high-speed Internet access nationwide.”  Via Free Press.

FCC: Shut up and watch TV

Black Agenda Report’s Bruce Dixon says the message of FCC Commission Deborah Taylor Tate at a sham “town hall meeting” in Atlanta was “Shut up, get yourself a converter box [for the transition form analog to digital to television], and watch TV.”
