Chinese tech major, Lenovo launched its Zuk Z2, the successor to the Zuk Z1 in its home market China in the month of May 2016. The Lenovo Zuk Z2 is the second product under the company’s smartphone sub-brand Zuk. Now, Lenovo is all set to bring in the new Zuk Z2 smartphone model in the vast and highly competitive mobile market of India. However, as per the latest reports, Lenovo is thought to be dropping the Zuk brand name for the Z2 in India. According to the reports, for the Indian market the Zuk Z2 will be rebranded as the Lenovo Z2 Plus. Post its market launch the Zuk Z2 will be available for sale in India only through online shopping stores just like its predecessor the Lenovo Zuk Z1.

These reports have been farther confirmed by Lenovo MBG India’s Head of Product Marketing of Smartphones, Mr. Anuj Sharma who said that the Zuk Z2 will come with the Lenovo logo at the back that will be replacing the Zuk logo which is seen on the back panel of the new Zuk Z2 smartphone in the Chinese market. He also said that Lenovo India will not be marketing the Zuk brand in the country, although he also confirmed that the upcoming new Lenovo Z2 Plus in India is the same smartphone model which launched in the Chinese market as the Zuk Z2 and apart from the name, it will not have any other major changes, but there will be some added features for India. He also said that the company will not be phasing out the Zuk Z1 even after the arrival of the Z2 Plus. The company wishes to keep the Zuk Z1 in its own position, while the new Lenovo Z2 Plus will come as a more premium device.
